If you haven’t noticed, or if you read my posts through a feed… I installed the Snap Preview Anywhere tool to this site a few weeks back.
It basically opens up a little preview window that shows a capture of the destination page, when you hover over a link.
I’m not sure how I feel about it yet…
It was really simple to install as all you have to do is add a line of code into the section of your site.
I do think it’s a pretty cool feature, but if Snap doesn’t already have a cache of the image, it takes forever to load – over a minute sometimes.
I also added code so that a preview does not appear for my internal links, but it only works some of the time. I’m not sure why.
Surprisingly, my girlfriend (who is internet savvy, but thinks the SEO industry is full of complete geeks and never visits this site) happened to like my Ms Dewey post and thought that the preview popup was a really cool. feature.
The Snap folks seemed to have corrected one of the issues that was really annoying to me. Before, when you hovered over a link, you couldn’t click on the link anymore, you would have to click on the URL that appeared in the preview popup. Now, the original link functions properly.
I think I like it enough to keep it for now, so hover over any of my links and check it out!
