SEOing 100hrs/wk
Holy crap… is anyone else this super-freakin’ busy? Between company work and my own side-projects, I figure that I’ve been putting in about 100 hours of work per week.
Other than a few hours here and there where I’m able to fit in a meal, a workout, a beer, or a bathroom break… it’s literally work and sleep.
I have a feeling that this is not uncommon in our industry. I may even be at the low end…
Lates,

Hey Disco -
I can totally relate. Not quite up to 100hrs, but I’m definately kicking around 70-75 hours each week. Just enough time for a few beers, a few ball games, and sleep. Ahhh… the life of an SEO. I’d suggest that someone writes a book about it, but there’s no time.

Man -
I have been feeling this way forever. I really related to the video you have on your blog where the guy uses his gf’s hand as a mouse. Anyways… I work about 80-90 hrs per week. I am really starting to understand the whole “work hard, play hard” theory. At first I thought it was just a lame California “buzz word”, but its not. My family and I try to have as much fun as possible. We do more things now that I am busy than before. I appreciate time-off alot more.
Take care of yourself…

Hey Karl and Justin… Thanks for stoppin’ by!
Honestly, I wouldn’t do what I do if I didn’t like it… and it’s a stretch for me to call what I do “work.”
I’m extremely fortunate to find a career that I consider enjoyable! From what I’ve heard, I don’t think others are as lucky!

Between REW and a my own SEO Guy projects, forums (Do they count as work if you enjoy them?) and a couple of other things, I would say I average 14 hours per day, 7 days per week. Does that = 100? I’m not sure, but it sure beats the crap out of me

SEO Guy - 14hrs x 7 = 98hrs! That’s pretty damn close!
