Hmm...I could sit here for hours and type in a whole list of the heaviest, sickest, metal that is on constant rotation in my playlist, but I know your tolerance for my style after living with you for so many years.

So, if I may make just ONE recommendation, it is "Halo" by Machine Head. Easily the greatest metal song released in the past ten years, and greatest ballad since "One". Warning: you'll be trying to master that riff on your guitar before long!

Just for Pam :) -

Nickelback - Something In Your Mouth
Rammstein - Te Quiero Puta
Buckcherry - Crazy Bitch

...but seriously, some good road trip music (based on my use of them in about 25,000 miles in road trips over the past 3 years) -

Deep Purple - Highway Star
Disturbed - Inside the Fire
Lynyrd Skynyrd & Kid Rock - Gimme Back My Bullets
Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride
Muse - Knights of Cydonia
Living Things - Bom Bom Bom
ZZ Top - La Grange
Megadeth - Moto Psycho
Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
CCR - Run Through the Jungle
Bob Seger - Turn the Page
Allman Brothers - Midnight Rider
Puddle of Mudd - Control
Godsmack - Awake
Metallica - Wherever I May Roam
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley
Korn - Coming Undone
Trapt - Headstrong
Helmet - Unsung
Powerman 5000 - Ultra Mega

You'll want a good overall mix...stuff to keep you awake is generally best from what I've tried. Movie scores can have good music, but are generally either to mellow or repetitive to keep you alert when driving long distances.
