The five finalists will be the authors of the five entries that receive the most traffic over the course of four weeks from the time their entries are published. Then those five entries will be voted upon by a panel of judges made up of top industry experts. The finalist with the most votes wins!
So, I need your help to get into the top five! Here is my entry:
I knew that I wanted to enter the contest when I first heard about it a few weeks back (mostly for the one month of coaching and training from Andy Beal!), but I had no idea what to write about. I wanted to stick to the rules, which state:
Simply submit an article on any subject related to search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising (PPC) or social media optimization (SMO) before the April 6th deadline. We want your top tips, your favorite tricks or a secret tactic that our readers would find useful.
…But what could I write about that hasn’t been published already? With all the great search marketing blogs that are out there, I felt like every tip and trick that is worth mentioning has already been written about!
So, I didn’t think about the contest again until happened upon an update… which is when I immediately began brainstorming.
I had a few drafts lined up as linkbait, but they weren’t really tips, tricks, or tactics, as the rules required. So, I tried to think about an aspect of SEO that is least written about and came up with the topic of competitive intelligence.
I had to write quickly, as the deadline approached… so, there are some things I would modify a bit in the article as I look back, but I’m pretty happy with the outcome and urge you to check it out!
In the post, I go over a little bit of what competitive intelligence is all about and then reveal two of my favorite tactics.
If you would be so kind to click through and take a gander, I would appreciate it! I know a lot of you are tapped into the SEO community and I need all the help I can get, so a link or a mention would be great as well! 🙂
