Shortly before William McGuire was shot to death and dismembered, the computer in his Woodbridge townhouse was used to research topics including “how to purchase guns in Pennsylvania,” “instant poisons” and “how to commit murder,” a computer crime analyst told a jury in Middlesex County yesterday.

Jennifer Seymour, who worked for the New Jersey State Police, also testified someone used the computer to search the Internet for information about “chloral hydrate,” a powerful sedative prosecutors say 34-year-old Melanie McGuire used on her husband before he was killed on April 28, 2004.
