Dogpile Beats Google In Customer Satisfaction Among Search Engines

Hot on the heels of my last post in which I found Dogpile ranking #1 in Google for the term search engine, J.D. Powers and Associates reports that Dogpile ranks highest in customer satisfaction among search engines for the second year in a row:

The study, now in its fourth year, examines consumer behavior, experiences and satisfaction of Internet service subscribers with the most frequently used online services. These include search engine/functions, web portal, instant messaging, social networking, music downloading services and online console gaming systems.

Google Is Not The Most Relevant Search Engine According To Google

While skimming through Sphinn, I came across this great interactive spoof demonstrating what Google would look like if they had to optimize their homepage for their own search engine.

That got me curious and led me to perform a query for search engine in Google. Ironically, Google doesn’t even appear on the first page:

Law May Require Websites To Be Accessible To Disabled Users

You may recall a lawsuit that was brought forth by the National Federation of the Blind against Target and Target.com’s lack of accessibility to visually impaired internet users. Loren covered this issue last year over at Search Engine Journal:

The suit is centered around Target.com’s lack of ALT text in its site’s images. Wonder who’s doing their SEO, as ALT tags (or ALT Attributes) are a very important part of all around site usability and relevancy…

Real Estate Directory Tackles RELO Trademark Infringement Issue

I don’t participate too much in forums anymore, but the one I have been visiting and participating in most frequently, lately, is Real Estate Webmasters. Over the last few days, a really interesting thread developed concerning Relo-Experts.com and the use of the term relo, which is trademarked by Reliance Relocation Services.

I, for one, was surprised to find out that the word relo is trademarked, since it’s so widely used as a generic term. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, though, because I knew that the term REALTOR® is trademarked.

Too Good To Pass Up At The Top Of The Week!

I’m writing this after watching a terrific game of Monday Night Football and while Life & Rhymes: Kanye West (which I’ve already watched at least five times) is playing in the background. Not to mention, I have Weeds and Californication coming up. This is not far from being an ideal night for me… :P

Anyway, it’s only Monday and I’ve already come across a handful of some of the best posts that I have read in awhile.
